DPDP awareness training by industry
Each industry has its own data map, scenarios and obligations. Pick yours to see what your team will learn.
-
HealthcarePatient data moves between reception, wards, labs, insurers and telemedicine apps. One forwarded report can become a reportable breach.
-
Banking & fintechKYC files, account data and repayment history are high-value targets, and recovery practices are under close scrutiny.
-
E-commerce & retailLarge platforms must erase data from accounts inactive for three years, with 48 hours’ notice. Your team runs that process.
-
EducationMost students are under 18, so verifiable parental consent applies, and behavioural tracking and targeted ads are off the table.
-
SaaS & ITAs a Data Processor you act for your clients, and their contracts will expect your people to be trained.
-
HospitalityGuest ID copies, passport scans and CCTV footage pile up fast at the front desk and rarely get deleted.
-
HR & BPOEmployee data is personal data too. Payroll, background checks and call recordings all need a lawful basis and limits.
-
Marketing & messagingSMS and WhatsApp campaigns need clear consent, and withdrawing it must be as easy as giving it.
How it works
How do industry programmes work?
Every programme teaches the same core of the DPDP Act and Rules: notice and consent, reasonable security safeguards, breach reporting and data principals’ rights. What changes is the material. Generic examples are replaced with the data and situations of your sector. A hospital receptionist practises verifying a caller before releasing a lab report; a loan officer practises keeping KYC scans out of a desktop Downloads folder; a teacher practises sharing results without posting full names in a parents’ group.
Which programme fits a mixed organisation?
Choose the industry closest to your core business, then add application tracks for the systems your teams use. A hospital chain might combine Healthcare with Hospital HIS & EMR and WhatsApp, SMS & email. An edtech company might pair Education with Mobile & web apps and LMS & school ERP. A BPO serving banks might take HR & BPO with Helpdesk & call centre.
Questions about industry programmes
Can we combine more than one industry programme?
Yes. Groups with several businesses, such as a hospital that also runs a nursing college, can assign different programmes to different teams. Each learner sees one path, and the dashboard reports on all of them together.
Do the programmes cover sector regulators such as RBI or IRDAI?
The programmes focus on the DPDP Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. Where sector rules overlap, such as cyber-incident reporting to CERT-In, lessons point out the overlap, but they do not replace your regulator-specific compliance training.
Is my industry missing?
The eight programmes cover the sectors we are asked about most. For other industries, such as manufacturing, logistics or real estate, we build the programme from the closest match plus your own scenarios. Ask for it in the consultation form.
